Body Mass Index (BMI) also called Quetelet Index measures how healthy your weight is, based on how tall you are. It gives you a clue to your risk for weight-related health problems. It gives an indication of your body size. You can calculate your BMI by dividing your body WEIGHT(in kg) by square of your HEIGHT in meters. Hence, WEIGHT(Kg)/HEIGHT(m^2). BMI < 18.5= UNDERWEIGHT BMI of 18.5 to 24.9= NORMAL BODY WEIGHT BMI of 25.0 to 29.9= OVERWEIGHT BMI of 30 to 34.9= CLASS 1 OBESITY BMI of 35 to 39.9= CLASS 2 OBESITY BMI GREATER THAN OR EQUAL TO 40= MORBID OBESITY OBESITY is defined as having a BMI of 30kg/m^2 and above.
